We helped British Transport Police keep the UK safe
BTP are the national police force for the railways. Every day, they police the journeys of more than six million passengers. Their aim is to get everyone home safe, secure and on time.
Challenge
The British Transport Police (BTP) had built their website on a CMS that was going out of support by the vendor, but they did not have the budget to change to a new CMS. They wanted to work with an agency with experience in the CMS that was able to create a modern, integrated website without being restricted by their legacy technology.
What we did
the human tech agency started the project by hosting three workshops: users, technology and design. Once we had an understanding of what the users wanted, we worked with the BTP team to create wireframes and designs for the key pages and sections. During the tech sessions we worked to understand what the CMS user requirements were, as well as integrations such as their “network most wanted” section which uses CCTV images to identify criminals on the railway, buses and tube networks.
We designed and developed the entire website in three months. The site continued to use their existing CMS but we adapted the back end to create enhanced admin roles for BTP staff.
